If your aim was HBTI kanpur then you would have given UPSEE organised by state government engineering exam. In that exam if you have gotten rank between 1 to 700 or 800 you would easily be able to get any branch there.

For your information in terms of placement what i would suggest you to take either CSE or CHEMICAL engineering (based on information given by some of my friends).

But from 2017 onward they have also started to take admissions through jee mains as well for that you have to score atleast 160 to apply for that more than that you are in safe zone to apply for.

It depends on what branch you want to get admission in.

For CS/MECH the cut off this year was 160+.

For Electronics the cut off was around 150+.

For Chemical engineering/civil engineering 140 was sufficient.

And for rest of Chemical Technology branches, even a score of 120 was sufficient until 4th round. paint being the most preferred branch.

As you all know that HBTI has been converted into gfti colleges so it will admit students through jee main.We all know that it has a good reputation in placements.So it is obvious that that a lot of students will prefer to get it .And i would like to tell you that it is also better than some NITs.

And it is the first time when HBTI is admiting through jee main so nobody can tell you the exact rank prediction but according to me it will be as follows

Computer Science and Engineering=>below 10k (AIR general)

nformation Technology=>below 13k(AIR general)

Electronics Engineering=>below 15k(AIR general)

Electrical Engineering=>below 17k(AIRgeneral)

Chemical Engineering=>below 20k(AIR general)
