I HAVE 98.1 PERCENTILE IN P G I CHANDIGARH EXAM FOR MD,MS COURSES CONDUCTED BY NOV 2017 (UNDER GEN CAT).WHAT IS THE FATE OF THE IST COUNSIL

The first counselling of PGIMER will be held on December 15, 2017, for admissions to 196 seats of 20 MD/MS disciplines of PGI Chandigarh. Candidates from the General Category were required to score in the 55th percentile and above to be eligible for counselling. As you have scored 98 percentile, you are certainly eligible for counselling.

However, as per the PGIMER rules, the number of candidates to be called for PGIMER counselling will be equivalent to three times the total number of seats available in a category. So unless your percentile will make you eligible for consideration as per the number of seats available, you will not be able to attend the first counselling.

The second and third rounds of counselling, to be held on January 9 and January 19, 2018 respectively, will be open for all candidates who have cleared the minimum percentile, though candidates will be called for MD/MS admissions in the order of merit only. In case you do not get a seat in your choice of discipline after first counselling of PGIMER 2018, then you can attend second and third counselling rounds to try and get the discipline of your choice.
