Hello students,
As per the additional eligibilty criteria and basis of selection , Aggregate of 60% or more marks in qualify ing examination in four subjects: English, Mathematics and any two subjects included in list B.
Selection will be based on the rank computed from the combined weighted average of percentage scored in the entrance exam and the percentage scored in the qualifying examination where the weights are: Entrance exam -65% and the Qualifying examination-35% .Hence Maths is compulsory so you can apply.
THANK YOU
Dear Vaibhav,
Thanks for your query. As you are aware that candidates are allowed to appear for DU JAT exam only if they obtain 60 percent (UR candidates) in four subjects which include one language (English), Mathematics and any two other subjects listed below. As per the eligibility criteria of DU JAT 2018 exams pertaining to B.A (Hons) Business Economics, BBA-FIA, and BMS degrees, candidates need to obtain a minimum aggregate of 60 percent marks in class 12 (qualifying examination) which is based on a simple average of the percentage scored in four mentioned subjects.
DU JAT - List of elective subjects (Any two) - Arabic,Bengali, Botany, Biology/ Biotechnology,Chemistry, Commerce/Business Studies, Computer Science/ Informatics Practices, Economics, English, French,Geography, Geology, German,Hindi Italian, LegalStudies, Mathematics, Persian, Philosophy, Physics, Psychology, Sanskrit, Sociology, Spanish, Statistics, Urdu, History, Political Science, Zoology, Home Science, Punjabi, and Accountancy.
Now, in your case, if Mathematics gets counted in 'best of four subjects,' then you are eligible to apply, else I am afraid you will not be eligible to apply for the entrance exam!
Hope it helps!
