i have a query related to bca couses some intitute like DY patil offers bca in science but some other institute offers bca course baachelor in computer aplications and when know that bca means bachelor in computer apllication so what is bca science how they both are different. plz solve this query
Hi,
The main difference between a normal BCA and BCA (Science) is the course focus and eligibility.
• Standard BCA → more focused on software applications, coding, web development, and business/IT applications. It is usually open to students from Arts, Commerce, and Science backgrounds.
• BCA (Science) → more technical and mathematics-oriented. It focuses on computer science fundamentals, algorithms, data structures, and advanced computing concepts. This course is generally meant for Science stream students.
If you like coding with less focus on advanced maths, normal BCA can be a good option. If you are comfortable with mathematics and want to go deeper into technical fields like Data Science, AI, or MCA later, BCA (Science) can be better.
