I have completed my masthers this year in mathematics, I want To do Ph.D. from abroad, what I have required GRE general test or subject test
Hi,
Well GRE as in gemeral test is required as a eligibility and sometimes a criteria worth exam considered by a particular university. Then you acn also submit subject tests that will show your knowledge in a particular subject and will show your dedication towards a particular field that you want to pursue.
I hope this helps.
All the best.
Hi Manvi,
Thanks for your query. Firstly, could you please let us know which country and university are you looking forward to? The requirements depend much on the respective institutes, while some look at GRE General test score alone, others might consider GRE Subject Test scores. Having said that, I would recommend you to take the GRE Subject Test as the top schools like Notre Dame, NYU, Yale, and Stanford all have programmes where GRE Subject Tests are highly recommended, along with select programmes that actually require a GRE Subject Test score. At times, the GRE Subject Test can render you a competitive edge over other applicants even if a school doesn’t specifically recommend that option. As you hold a Master’s degree in Mathematics, you can definitely opt for the GRE Subject Test.
