i have droped my btech and cancelled my privious course and now i got nit do i have to submit discontinue certificate while physical reporting or later or inter tc and gap certificate is ok for physical reporting at college.
Hello Laxman,
For physical reporting, most NITs require you to submit proof that you have discontinued your previous course if you were enrolled elsewhere. This is usually called a discontinuation certificate or migration certificate, depending on your state and institution. While some colleges may accept your intermediate Transfer Certificate (TC) along with a gap certificate at the time of reporting, others will specifically insist on the discontinuation certificate to avoid any issue of dual enrolment in two institutes. Since these rules can slightly vary from NIT to NIT, my advice is to contact the academic section or admissions office of your allotted NIT directly. If they confirm that your TC and gap certificate will be accepted for now, you can submit the discontinuation certificate later. However, it’s always safer to keep all three documents ready so there’s no last-minute problem during verification. The earlier you arrange them, the smoother your admission process will be.
I wish you the very best for your studies at NIT.
Thank you for your question!
NITs often require a gap certificate (also known as an affidavit) to explain the period between your previous B.Tech course and your current admission to the NIT. This is to verify that you haven't been attending another college during that time and that there's a valid reason for the gap in your education.
And the Transfer Certificate (TC) from your previous B.Tech college is a crucial document and is generally required for physical reporting at the time of admission
While the gap certificate addresses the time gap, the Discontinuation Certificate from your previous college confirms that you have officially discontinued your studies there. This might be necessary if you officially cancelled your admission before the reporting period ended. If you canceled before the end of the counseling period, the college may not be able to charge you the full fees.
Also,You will need to physically report to the NIT at the designated time with all required documents.
