Marks doesn't decide what is good for you and what is not. So don't make your decision only on the basis of score you get in your previous exams, but always consider them.
According to me, if you are interested in the subjects or in the branch you want to do b.tech in, then you should go for it and practice a lot to get it through. Since your score in twelfth is a bit low so you need to focus on the entrance completely.
The Colleges you can get depends on how well you perform in your entrance exam.
