For general category student it is impossible to get a seat in to NIT with just 82 percentile score because it means at around 18% students are ahead of you in if assume that total 8 9 to 10 lakh students appeared for the exam then you can calculate your expected rank that it would be around 1.5 Lakh so which is impossible to get a seat into NIT.
