I have got 84 percentile in jeemains,and my rank was 179960 .which colleges do I preferably get a seat

I am sorry but with this rank you wont get any iiits or nits. you can go gor the gftis if you want a government college or go for private colleges like KIT, VIT, etc. you can give a try for the special rounds for nits. if you are lucky enough to get a seat in nit you may get in nit sikkim,mizoram, manipur, nagaland etc. but you won't get cse or ece. you will get the lower branches.

See the marks u have scored in the JEE mains is not enough for u to bag a seat in the good colleges like NITs IIITs or GFTIs for pursuing ur higher studies in the field of ur interest under the btech courses as the cut off percentile is about 96% . U should be going for private colleges like LPU , MANIPAL , KIIT , VIT , etc. I m providing u a link for ur help.

You are not going to get admission in any NIT, IIIT or GFTI through the above rank through general category...
You should try for private colleges and state government colleges who takes admission through JEE Mains...
