There are two types of Caste certificates being issued in India. One is for state and other one is for Central funded schemes. The one which is there for state policy is being issued by Block administration and the other which is there for Central funded schemes is being issued by district administration and being prepared only after the first one. The latter one is used in Jee-mains.
I guess the certificate once done is valid for 5 years.
