The minimum qualification to teach in a private school in India is 50% marks in your graduation. Now this also depends on what level are you planning to teach.
There are 3 basic categories: The Primary School, Middle School & High School.
Some private schools have a minimum cut off criteria for their Teachers. It could be your qualification, work experience or even a particular certification. This completely depends on which school you are planning to apply for.
The PROCEDURE.
Applying in a Private School is not very different from applying in any other school. Carry your Most Updated Resume, Research well in advance about the school and its principles, Be Confident during your Interview and Prepare a small piece of exercise for the students (just in case you are asked to give a glass demo).
If the selection process goes well, then you’re most likely to get selected. What will add more value to your resume? Ever heard of Career Counselling? You must be aware about the new rule that the Central board of Secondary education has released this year. It is now mandatory to have a Counselling Wing in every school.
What are schools looking for in a Teacher? Apart from your academic and professional background, they’re also looking for counselling skills.
University of California Los Angeles Extension and Univariety offer a Global Career Counsellor Certification.
Univariety is India’s largest school counselling system with over 500+ schools across 30 cities. The course is an exclusive online course and explains in detail about counselling needs and technique in the education industry.
Thousands of students appear for Board examination every year, they need proper guidance for their future. Progressive schools are looking for Certified Teachers who can work in the long run. This sure is a great opportunity to become a good teacher.
