I havr got 8.56 total CGPA, but in 2nd semester, in one Language i.e in telugu I have got 5 grade points. Am i eligible for iit-jam?
Hi Vamsi. The common JAM Eligibility Criteria for the year 2019 is as follows:
- For General/OBC (NCL) category the minimum requirement of marks will be 55 % or 5.5 out of 10 as a aggregate in languages and subsidiaries of all the combined years.
- For SC/ST and PwD categoriey a candidate must have secured 50% or 5.0 out of 10 aggregate.
If we consider general eligibility, then yes, you are eligible for the exam. But every institute has a bit of modification in the qualification criteria, hence, you can check that by clicking on the given link.
