I am pursuing B.E mechanical and i want to do Msc in Astronomy and Astrophysics but i have a confusion regarding Gate examination as i come to know that IIST accept Gate from physics,EC,ECE and engineering science. so wont they accept my appilcation as I would be giving Gate through Mechanical?

Hi Dilip,

Electronics and Communication Engineering does include a deep understanding of the concepts of Physics. Electronics involves topics like semiconductors, nanotechnology etc. However, you can surely pursue the course provided that you give extra effort to the subjects, have good teachers and classmates to teach and clarify your doubts. You could also take help from online resources like NPTEL etc.
