Shift basically refers to the time-slot in which the candidate is required to appear for the exam. Exams like AIIMS MBBS and JIPMER MBBS are generally conducted over two shifts - one morning and one afternoon. Different question papers are provided in each shift.

AIIMS MBBS will be conducted on May 26 and 27, 2018, in a total of 4 shifts. This means that there will be one morning and afternoon shift on both days. As per the AIIMS authorities, the number of shifts may also vary depending on the logistics or the number of applicants.

The morning shift is scheduled for 9.00 AM to 12.30 PM while the afternoon shift is scheduled for 3.00 PM to 6.30 PM. Candidates appearing for AIIMS MBBS 2018 will be randomly allotted any one of these shifts on either date. The venue, time and shift of the examination will be communicated via the AIIMS MBBS 2018 admit card, which will be released on May 10, 2018.
