National Defence Academy & Naval Academy commonly known as NDA/ NA is a national level defence entrance exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for those who wish to pursue their career as commissioned officers in Army, Navy, Air Force and Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC). The exam is conducted twice a year - April and September. As per eligibility criteria, candidates who have passed 10+2/HSC can apply for NDA exam. The exam is conducted in two stages – written exam and SSB Interview. The written exam is conducted in two sessions – morning and afternoon. The written exam comprises two subjects – Mathematics and General Ability Test. The question booklet of Mathematics will have 120 multiple choice questions while there will 150 multiple choice questions in General Ability Test . Each session is for 2 hours and 30 minutes. The standard of papers will be matriculation and 10+2 level. Candidates qualifying the written exam by securing the cutoff are called for SSB Interview. The SSB Interview is a five-day training procedure. The final merit list for selection is prepared based on the marks secured in written exam and SSB Interview.

It is a great decision that you made. Well to join the Navy you can crack the NDA exam or even you can join after 12 through TES. You can also join the Indian Navy after you graduation through schemes like UES,NCC Special Entry and so on.

Hello Nitin, NDA exam pattern comprises of Mathematics subject (300 marks) and General Ability (600 marks). Negative marking is there. Exam will be online mode in objective pattern form... candidate clearing exam will face SSB test/ interview... and according selected...

The National Defence Academy (NDA) is conducted twice a year by the Union Public Service commission (UPSC).

The exam pattern for NDA I are as follows -

There will be Objective type questions in the examination.

Mode of examination : Online

Duration of exam will be 2 hours 30 minutes for code 1 ( Mathematics) which will be of 300 marks

and code 2 ( General ability test) which will be of 600 marks.

General ability section is furthern divided into two parts: English and General Knowledge.

Language of examination will be bilingual i.e. English and Hindi only.

There will also be negative marking for wrong answers.
