The minimum rank required to get into the NIT for a student of your category is less than 1000.
As you got the rank more than 1000, you have very less chance to get into the NIT as you didn't reach the border line requirements of the rank and also because so many others will have same or less rank than you.
You can try fir your state quota, where you'll have the much better chance to get into because of the state reservation for the local people
