Dear Ananya, firstly, I would like to begin by saying, “ when the going gets tough, the tough get going.” When the chips are down and things are not going your way, you should not feel depressed at all. Remember, one thing in life that you should always believe in yourself and in your capabilities. No two individuals are same. Hence, stop comparing yourself with your friends. Today, they might be ahead of you as they prepare for the JEE entrance exam, but a lot depends how they perform on that particular day.
You still have at least three to four months time to prepare for the JEE Main exam. Draw a clear cut plan, be determined and focussed and do not care how others are performing right now. Remenber in a cricket match, sometimes it is the number 11 batsman who pulls up a win for his team. But that will happen only when you stop bothering about what others are doing and thinking about you.
According to the syllabus and the sample papers available, figure out for yourself which topics you can finish first, what are your strong and weak areas and in the next one month work on those areas. During this whole cycle, they key to your success will be the focus on your goal. According to the mythological story, Arjuna just saw the eye of the fish when he had to shoot with a bow and arrow. Since this the crucial stage of preparation, just focus on your preparation and not get influenced by others.
Set short targets everyday, finish it and the move forward. From January onwards start taking mock tests and solve sample papers. You need not necessarily study for ten to twelve hours continously. Study for two to three hours but remain focussed. Currently your aim should be finish the complete JEE entrance exam syllabus by mid January and I am sure you can do it since most of it your Class XI and Class XII syllabus. If you are able to perform in the past you can perform now also. But that will only happen if you do not get disoriented by what others are thinking about you.
Study from the right kind of books and study material. It is not pertinent that you have to stufdy from very high profile books. Get your basic concepts clear, remain calm, solve the past years quetsion papers with sincerity and I do not see any reason why you shopuld not crack the JEE Exam.
In the end I just have to say one thing, people who have made big in life have also encountered phases where people doubted their cabilities. One such example is the God of Indian Cricket, Sachin Tendulakr, who in 2005 suffered injury, populary known as “Tennis Elbow.” A number of people simply wrote him off and announced that his cricketing career is finished. The cricketing legend, worked hard, overcame his injury and played for the next 9 years and rest is history.
At last I just have to say, the word, “ Impossible also says, I M Possible” … So gear up Ananya and give me the good news soon that you all set to qualify the JEE entrance exam.
