JEE MAINS consists of 2 papers, Paper 1 for B.Tech/ B.E. aspirants and paper 2 for B.Arch/ B. Planning. Paper 1 will comprise of objective type questions based on Maths, Chemistry, and Physics having equal weightage in the total of 360 marks i.e 120 marks for each subject.A total of 90 question with 30 questions from each subject will be there. A correct answer will be awarded 4 marks while 1 mark will be deducted for wrong answer.
Paper 2 will be for 390 marks based on Mathematics, Aptitude and Drawing skills.Duration of the exam is 3 hours so you need to be quick enough to complete your paper. Also remember do not depend on guesswork as there is negative marking.
Now that there is a lot of syllabus, to score good you need to know what is most important out of the complete syllabus. Here is a link you can use to know the chapterwise weightage for jee mains
https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-syllabus-weightage
Next comes the most important part i.e the proper study material.
So, First of all i will suggest you that you must complete the NCERT books to clear your basic.
Here is a list for books you can use along with NCERT:
Physics:
- Concepts of Physics Vol I and II by H.C. Verma
- Problems in General Physics by I.E. Irodov
- Fundamentals of Physics by Halliday, Resnick & Walker
- Numerical Chemistry by P. Bahadur
- Organic Chemistry by Paula Bruice Yurkanis
- Inorganic Chemistry by J.D. Lee
- Organic Chemistry by Morrison & Boyd
- Maths XI & XII by NCERT
- Trigonometry by S. L. Loney
- Co-ordinate Geometry by S. L. Loney
- Higher Algebra by Hall & Knight
- Problems in Calculus of One Variable by I.A. Maron
At last i would like to share some personal tips for preparations.Do not stress out and make proper schedule for studies. Stick to your plan and study in slots, divide your time into slots as per your need.Stay confident and do not loose hope. Keep practicing. Focus on tricks to solve the question so that your time is not wasted.
Thanks and all the best!!!
