i passed in cbse class 12 but failed in mathematics as maths was my main subject but overall pass im preparing for ssc chsl cgl DSSSB teaching and want to pursue b.ed in future tell me is there any problem that i have to face in future that i failed in my main subject and get RT please tell me im in huge depression
Hey there,
First, please don't panic. A Class 12 RT in one subject does not automatically ruin your future. If your CBSE final result/marksheet says “PASS”, you have passed Class 12. CBSE's stated requirement is passing the required five subjects; the marksheet is the document that establishes your qualification.
For your plans:
1. SSC CHSL — generally NO problem
CHSL requires passing Class 12/equivalent from a recognized board. Your Mathematics failure generally does not disqualify you from CHSL if your official CBSE result says PASS.
2. SSC CGL — NO problem after graduation
CGL is primarily a graduation-level examination. For most CGL posts, your Class 12 Mathematics result is not relevant once you have the required bachelor's degree. Some specific posts have additional Mathematics/Statistics requirements, so those particular posts need separate checking.
3. B.Ed. — generally NO problem
For B.Ed., your graduation qualification is what matters. A previous RT in Class 12 Mathematics normally doesn't prevent you from pursuing B.Ed., provided you meet the particular university's B.Ed. eligibility requirements.
4. DSSSB English teaching — this needs careful checking
This is the only area where I would not give you a blanket “yes.” DSSSB has different teaching posts with different qualification requirements. For a TGT/PGT English post, your graduation/postgraduation subjects, B.Ed., CTET and other requirements can matter. DSSSB publishes post-specific eligibility in each advertisement.
One important point about your Mathematics RT
If your official CBSE Class 12 marksheet/result says PASS, don't treat yourself as someone who “failed Class 12.” You passed Class 12, but Mathematics was an uncleared subject. These are different things.
And please don't let this make you feel that your career is finished. It isn't. You can absolutely continue toward graduation → B.Ed. → teaching, while also preparing for SSC CGL/CHSL.
If you give me your exact Class 12 subjects + your graduation course/subjects, I can check DSSSB TGT English specifically and tell you whether Mathematics RT creates any issue for that post.
Thanks
Nischal
