I scored 71 in mains and I am in general category. Will i get into any NITs?

No, Brother you are not eligible for NIT counciling also.

The cutoff for general category 74 so to apply for josaa counselling you have to get a minimum of 74 marks in JEE mains otherwise you won't be able to apply for the counselling. You can opt for other government colleges like you said and other private colleges like VIT SRM University.

I'm really sorry in telling this to you but since you belong to the General category, you should have atleast 74 marks to qualify the exam as it is the minimum mark required. But, since you have scored only 71 marks, you will not be able to get into any NITs.
You can still try applying to various other private colleges or universities for admission.

What about 10+2 score...??
although there will be a minimum chance to get any nit with those marks. But still if you scores good in 10+2 then there will must be a probability in percentile.
