I want a human mentor who can guide me
Hello Student,
Absolutely. If you feel that you need a real person who can understand your situation, listen to your concerns, and guide you step-by-step, that is completely understandable. A good mentor should not simply tell you what career to choose; they should help you understand your options, strengths, goals and make a practical plan.
If you want a human mentor in India, there are a few options:
- National Career Service (Government of India) offers personalised online mentoring through Mentor To Go, free for eligible registered jobseekers aged 18+.
- Platforms such as Career Call connect students with verified mentors from institutes such as IITs, AIIMS, IIMs, NLSIU and others on a one-to-one basis.
- Dheya and similar career-counselling platforms provide structured one-to-one mentoring and career planning.
But before paying anyone, check the mentor's experience in the field you want to pursue. A mentor who has personally experienced the same academic/career path can often give much more practical guidance. Best wishes!
