To be honest 83 percentile will fetch you a rank of 1 lakh 75k or more. With this rank its impossible to get into NIT if you are a general/obc candidate. If you have  sc/st/pwd quota then only you can get an NIT. This is your only way to get a NIT. If you are  a general / obc candidate then you may have to look for some state level engineering colleges.

You didn't mention you category to which you belong. And it is also quite difficult to predict the exact colleges or branch you will get into as cutoff varies every year depending upon many factors.

With 83 percentile in JEE Mains You rank will be around 160000-162000. With this rank in general category you won't be able to get any NIT or IIITs.
