I want to ask what percentage do I have in 12th standard for applying for a university

12th percentage matters a lot for getting admissions into various colleges in any field. For that you must have a decent score such that you can have an alternative option for admissions into college. See, a good college is highly responsible for building a decent future. If you ae graduated from a renowned college, surely you will have better opportunities and good value in future.

Talking about what percentage is important in class 12th then i would say a percentage above 90% in PCM stream and above 92% in PCB and at last in commerce you must have above 90%.

Several universities have their criteria for admissions into the particular courses and you must follow that for easy admission procedure.

since you have not mentioned the name of a particular university in which you want to apply hence in order to get admission in the top colleges such as Shri Ram College of Commerce which is under Delhi university you need to have a score of above 99% in class 12th while for getting admission in top colleges of Delhi University a percentage above 96 to 97 % is needed.  However now entrance examination CUCET will be conducted, thus a perfect score in class 12th and entrance exam is required.

while colleges such as symbiosis in Maharashtra you need  to appear for entrance examination.

You question depends on the choice of domain in which you are interested to study.

Like , In NEET or JEE MAIN exam.. the minimum percentage is 50% and 75% respectively [in General] to get admission in premium institutes like AIIMS, IIT or NITs .

If you want to get admission in any general degree college with Hons . then the required percentage for that subject you need to gain.. You can get the details from your desired college/ University website.

Generally , 45% marks are said to be average standard marks to get admission in any general degree colleges (can vary institute requirement wise)
