Since you have not mentioned for what problem/exam/college you have mailed and to where it's a bit complex for us to solve your problem. However the problem that you mentioned is basic . The scenario that you have mentioned can happen usually. The recipient may not be able to read it early because they might have gotten other mails too regarding some other problem because in bigger work places they have a special panel of people responsible for the work related to the problems similar to you and thus they might get 1000s or more number of mails a day and to solve each problem, it may take some time. So , they will respond to your mail, just wait for sometime or you can visit the respective website for any further updates.
