I want to give improvement exam in 2020 . Can i choose physical education as my 5th subject if i earlier had computer science as 5th subject

1. This procedure is only applicable for the students of CBSE board
2. This procedure is about changing subject (ex- from maths to hindi) and not about changing streams (ex- from commerce to science)

Now the procedure,

Let us understand this process thru an example. Suppose someone takes following combination of subjects in Commerce stream in class 11th- Accounts, Economics, Business Studies, Mathematics and certainly English. But after selecting the subject combination, she faces difficulty in handling Mathematics subject. She tries her best to improve her score in Mathematics subject but is unable to do the same. She decides to change her subject from Mathematics to Hindi.

Changing Mathematics to Hindi before registration (i.e, in class 11th)

CBSE has a system of registration for 12th boards. That registration is usually done in class 11th. Registration process ends tentatively in September/October. It is very easy to change from Mathematics to Hindi before registration. Just write a application to your school Principle requesting him/her to change the subject. Before registration everything is under school control, thus your application will be easily accepted.

Changing Mathematics to Hindi after registration (i,e, in class 12th)

Teachers/ Principle will usually reply a big NO for change in subject after registration. Please don't fall in the prey of your teachers/ principle's rude and static reply. It is still possible to change your subject. In this situation convince your school principle to write a letter to your CBSE region. That letter by your principle should be accompanied by your request to change the subject.

for example- you will write, To the principle (of your school), subject- change in subject. And your principle will recommend the change in subject in a separate letter addressing head of your respective CBSE region accompanied by your request.

After posting the letter, just wait for the reply from your CBSE region. Meanwhile continue with your unlucky subject (Mathematics in the above example). When the letter will arrive it will grant permission to change in subject from Mathematics to Hindi. Ensure the effect of change from Mathematics to Hindi in your Board exam admit card.
