I want to learn all about robotics and astronomy so what should i do ?
Dear Bhupendra,
As the name suggests, robotics is all about conceptualising, designing, manufacturing and operating robots. It is a multidisciplinary field that involves ideas drawn from mechanical, electrical, communication and computer engineering. However, it would be a misconception to visualise robots simply as they are featured in popular culture. A robot is any machine, usually programmed by a computer, which can carry out one or more tasks with speed and precision. Its appearance depends on the nature of the tasks it performs and not all robots are suited to a human-like construction!
In the past, robots were mainly stationary, with limited movement. But today, the focus is on mobile robots that can perform in dynamic environments, for example, unmanned drones and fully autonomous cars. These are especially being developed to perform tasks and/or work in environments that would be hostile or inaccessible to humans.
The top institutions to study robotics are: IIT Kanpur; IIT Banaras Hindu University; Jadavpur University; University of Hyderabad; PSG College of Technology; SRM institute of Science and Technology; Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani.
Astronomy is a science that encompasses the study of all extraterrestrial objects and related subjects. Now it also includes astrophysics and how physical and chemical knowledge are applied to understand the nature of celestial objects and the processes that control their formation, evolution, and emission of radiation. In addition, the gases and dust particles around and between the stars have become the subjects of much research.
Best places to study are IIST thiruvananhapuram and IISc Bangalore. Best of Luck!
