Diploma in Computer Engineering is a 3 years long Diploma certificate program. After passing 10th standard, students are eligible to pursue this program. Many polytechnic, technical education and engineering institutes across India are offering this program. Interested students have to approach the institute and fill up the admission form. Seats will be allotted to deserving students on the basis of marks scored by them in 10th board examination (usually in Mathematics and Science subjects).
The subjects for this course are as given below -
1st semester- Mathematics, Computer Programming, (Introduction), Digital Electronics, Basic Electronics, Computer Application (Introduction)
2nd semester- Mathematics, Engineering Physics, Computer Programming (Advanced)Basic Electronics, Web Designing
3rd semester- C++ Programming, Database Management System, Operating System, Data Structure, Microprocessor, and Assembly Language Programming
4th semester- Computer Networks, Software Development (Basics), Database Management System (Advanced), Net Programming, Computer Organization, and Architecture, Web Development Tools
5th semester- Java Programming, Web Development, Computer Maintenance, Elective Subject, Project
6th semester- Java Programming (Advanced), Elective Subjects, Project
After completing Diploma Computer Engineering program, one may go for Bachelors Degree (B.E./B.Tech.) in Computer Engineering.
Common job profiles include - Software Engineer, Hardware Engineer, Networking Engineer, Software Tester, Web Designer, App Developer, Project Engineer, Engineer
Average starting salary is around 2,00,000 to 2,50,000 rupees per year.
The Fee structure varies. If u have got the college seat from government quota then the fee will be less when compared to management quota. The average Fee in government college maybe around 8000 to 9000/- and for management quota students 11000 to 13000/-
