i wrote 5+1 additional subjects in class 12th cbse but i got rt in maths and physics results comp and come july 15 physics compartment and i plan to join b.com/ b.com hons
Hey,
If you’ve already passed 5 subjects, then in many cases CBSE can still consider you “Pass,” but the important thing is whether the failed subject is a core subject or just an additional one.
• If Physics/Math is an additional (6th) subject → you may not need compartment for general degree courses.
• If it’s a main/core subject → you’ll usually need to clear the compartment exam, especially for technical courses or courses where that subject is compulsory.
For BCom/BCom Hons:
• Normal BCom usually just needs overall Class 12 pass + required percentage
• BCom Hons in many universities (like DU) often requires Mathematics/Applied Mathematics
So if Maths is compulsory for your target course and you failed it, then clearing the compartment becomes important.
Best thing right now is to:
• Check your marksheet status carefully
• Read the eligibility of the specific college/course you want
• Apply for compartment if the subject affects your eligibility
Hope it helps. All the best!
