Iam Obc and to get an IIT how much marks needed
First, you have to appear for JEE Main and qualify it. It's cut off score varies every year but is usually between 70 to 95. So you should try to score more than hundred marks out 360 in jee main for safer side. Then you will appear for jee advance. For obc, cutoff for this year was minimum 9% in individual subjects and 31% of total. It is a six hour paper divided into two. Previous year, it was 183 for both papers ie, 366 total. So out 366, you should score at least 114 marks to clear the cutoff score. However, for a decent branch you should score at least 50% ie, 183 out 366. For cse, strive for a score above 256 out of 366.
The total score of jee advance paper may vary from time to time. But the percentage of total score required to get an iit might be same.
Hi Laxam,
To get into any IIT institutes you have write JEE mains and JEE advance. JEE mains cut off for OBC is 95 and for JEE advance the cut off for OBC category is 114.
I hope you got the answer you were looking for.
All the best.
