Iam passed out school in 2020 , if possible for joining college now
It is absolutely possible to join college now. While a 6-year gap (2020 to 2026) might feel like a long time, the Indian education system is quite flexible regarding "study gaps." Whether you were working, preparing for competitive exams, or dealing with personal matters, you can restart your academic journey this year
Major Admission Pathways for 2026
Depending on what you want to study, you have three main options:
-
Central & State Universities (via Entrance Exams): Most Central Universities now require the CUET (UG) 2026 . Most universities under CUET do not have an upper age limit or a "maximum gap year" restriction for basic undergraduate courses (BA, B.Com, B.Sc).
Private Universities: Institutions like Amity , LPU, or Chandigarh University are generally very welcoming to gap-year students. They may ask for a justification for the gap during a counselling interview, but it rarely leads to rejection.
Distance & Online Learning (IGNOU/DU SOL): If you are working or want more flexibility, IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University) or DU SOL (School of Open Learning) are excellent. They have no age limit and accept students with any length of study gap
