Hello aspirant,
It must be clear to you that becoming a judge is pursuing a career in law. Here, is what one needs to do to be the highest judicial authority of India :-
- Take CLAT exam and get into an integrated 5-year law degree course.
- Once you finish your graduation in law, start practicing law.
- There are now two ways to become a Civil Judge:-
- Take the Civil Judge Grade- II exam.
- After clearing preliminary exam, followed by Mains and then the interview, you will be a Magistrate.
- If one has practiced law for more than 7 years, the candidate is eligible to write the Higher Judicial Services Exam. This will result in one's appointment as Additional District Judge.
- Collegium of judges, sometimes recommend senior advocates for the post of High court judge. Appointment is granted by the President of India. Usually more than 10 years of litigation experience is necessary for eligibility.
Hope this helped.
Thank you.
