Dear Vinayak, may I know if you are enquiring about grape wine industry? If that is the case, you dont need to have an accademic qualification per se to start off. I would suggest you to go through this link to know more about wine industry in India: wineindustry.pdf. If you want to become a winemaker, you should have your basics right. You can take up courses in Oenology. India ranks 77 in this category so we dont have such courses here. It is not mandatory to have this degree. But if you want to be involved in the whole process of wine making, you should have the knowledge required. You can't rely on the staff. You need to know when to increase and decrease the temperatures, etc.
