Correct Answer: 5 hours
Solution :
Given:
A man earns Rs. 2000 for his first 50 hours of work in a week and is then paid one and a half times his regular hourly rate for any additional hours.
Let, the additional hours of work be $x$.
So, his per hour earning is $\frac{2000}{50}$ = Rs. 40
He has to earn an additional (2300 – 2000) = Rs. 300
According to the question,
$40×\frac{3}{2}×x=300$
$\therefore x =5$ hours
Hence, the correct answer is 5 hours.
