If a student from wbut got one backlog in 7th semester exam but got a good rank in gate;can he/she go for m.tech admission or not?

Yes candidate can take admission but after clearing the backlog as at taking admission time college demands provisional degree of B.Tech and main degree during first semester .If candidate not able to clear the backlog and college will not provide provional deree as soon as possible which can harm the candidate.

I got it but seperate supplymentary exam in wbut held on September and during that time registration is over for m.tech.so what should one do for that??
