If I am getting a degree from affilated university the why should I prove myself again after 4 years? After engineering we look for jobs why do you force us again to study and feed the same knowledge in our brain. It is a engineers brain the more you play the more we will jobs I foreign countries

see there is various aspects of engineering jobs available, now if you look for the four years syllabus there is around 40 subjects of different topics is taught in college. however while you are applying for any job there is specific instructions given on the job profile. also the company wants to hire the best of the candidates in order to get company success.. now coming to abroad jobs there is many candidates have placed in abroad companies after getting certain years of work experience. to get job in abroad in much easier if you belongs to tier 1 engineering college. all of the organization, systems, Institute are run by a process and you can not achieve anything by denying it.

You are absolutely right that you do not need to prove anything to anyone except yourself. However, you must know that GATE is not a compulsory  exam for students who have completed their B.Tech, instead, it is just an entrance examination for students seeking admissions in M.Tech courses at IITs and other GATE accepting institutes.

Moreover, many big PSUs in the country like ONGC, HPCL, IOCL etc. consider GATE for the purpose of recruitment in engineering related posts. Given this, you always have to go for a screening process in any job wherever you go, so you may consider GATE as a screening process if you are aiming to join any of the big PSUs in the country.

Leaving everything aside, you have several other options other than GATE and you don't need  to assume that GATE is a compulsion or a must for students who have completed their undergraduate engineering degree. Talking about moving to foreign countries for jobs, for that too you need to appear for exams like GRE, TOEFL etc. and this in any way does not mean that you have to prove yourself, it is just a part and process specified by the authorities. I would suggest you to not think of this on a personal level and just consider GATE as an entrance test for M.Tech admissions and also a gateway to recruitment in major PSUs of the country.
