Hello.
Yes, you can get seat under both reserved and unreserved. It's not mandatory that if you have reservation, you have to take a reserved seat.
Hope this helps.
Dear Wajidur,
No, if you have applied for an under-reserved category like general then you won't be getting a chance under the reserved category like SC, ST, etc. If you are of the reserved category, then you should apply under the reserved category and if you are of the under-reserved category, then you should apply for that category. Stick to your category when applying this will help.
I hope I was able to help you.
Hi Wajidur,
In JEE Mains Application form you are allowed to choose your category, and if you choose any reserved category you are asked to attach a proof for that. Now if you have filled for reserved category you will get your general as well as your category rank and your admission procedure is based on your category rank. Because if you want both you are eat up the position of some other candidate which is not allowed. So you can get chance only in one category.
Hii
When you apply under any reservation, then you can get any of seat either in reserve category or un reserved cateogry.
For e.g.
Let you have general rank 100 and sc rank 5.
In a college there is 3 seat reserved for sc and 5 seat are unreserved. Let 3 sc candidate whose rank is better than you apply to it. And you also apply. But at the same time there are only four general candidate who have better general rank than you. You have fifth best general rank. The you will be alloted the seat under unreserved seat.
Hope it helps you.
All the best!
