Although I have answered on this to you before, here is some additional information on the process.

In case you get a seat in NIT under CCMN counselling and then get a seat in the third and final list of IIT JAM admissions, then you can simply surrender the seat you get in NIT and get the refund from NIT. You can simply surrender the seat online and will not need to report at any participating institute. NIT will open a window of surrendering the seat after every counselling process.

During the process of admission in NIT, first during registration, you will pay registeration fee of INR 2000. Then if you are allotted a seat during any counselling round (first, second or third), you will have to pay a Counselling Participation Fee (7,500/- for SC/ST & 10,000/- for Gen/OBC) if you accept the seat. At the time of accepting the seat, you can choose the 'Float' option to keep participating in further counselling rounds, while you retain your allotted seat until you get a better (higher) option.

In this meanwhile, if you get the desired seat in IIT JAM, you can surrender the seat during the surrendering windows which will open after every counselling rounds. In case you do not get a seat in the third and final list of IIT JAM, you can freeze the option at NIT and generate the provisional admission letter and report to participating institute of NIT.

When you surrender, you will not be refunded the registration fee (2000/-). From Counselling Participation Fee , you will be refunded the entire amount after deducting 1000/- as processing charges.
