CAT is only for getting admitted into management programs in IIMs and other management colleges in India. Like GATE, CAT does nott provide a chance to get a job in public sector.
But, you can use your preparation for CAT to give other exams for government jobs like RBI GRADE B exam, other BANK PO exams( SBI, IBPS, etc.), and SSC CGL since they have very similar syllabus. If you have prepared very well for CAT these exams might even be easier for you.
