If I select in IIT jee mains and not select for advance then what will be happens to me I got admission in nit or not.

You get admission in NIT if marks are greater than cutoffs which is required by NITies specifically.
If marks are just around the category cutoffs than chance of getting seat in NIT is not there.
For eg: This year 60 marks is cutoffs for clearing jee and any candidate get 65 marks and NIT have cutoffs of 100 marks than candidate not able to take admission in NIT but able to take admission in other institutions.
For taking admission in NIT institute candidate should score above the cutoff for the required NIT.
