Canadian universities accept both IELTS and TOEFL scores. Before selecting any university, you should first check the eligibility criteria stated by your chosen University. Most universities in Canada accept IELTS score while some accept TOEFL scores as well. I would suggest you opt for IELTS(academic) as it is accepted by 9000 institutions in 145 countries.

Most of the Canadian universities ask for a minimum band of overall 6.5 in IELTS(Academic). But again, there are universities like University of Waterloo who ask for a minimum band of overall 7 in both their undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
