To get qualified into IITs one must be amongst top 2.24 lakh students from JEE Mains and must have appeared for JEE advanced.
To prepare wellenough one must know paper pattern and syllabus with weightages to score well.

One must refwr to top books alongwith NCERT books to have sufficient Practice.
Giving ample of mock exams is top strategy recommended by toppers, which shall help you in Analysis of mistakes and time consumed over them.
Focusing on weak areas and working on them to make it strength is strongly suggested.
You must also focus well in scoribg more than 75 percent marks in class 12th on aggregate to qualify for Jee Advanced.
