See depending on your skills you have to select the way to earn money. If you want to do job then you can go for Government Exams like SSC CHSL and state exams or RRB exams with 10+2 eligibility criteria. Now if you want to earn a small amount of money just for pocket money then you have a lot of options. If you know any skills like Guitar, Singing etc you can teach them online on youtube or offline depending on your interest. Also if you know photography then you can use social media or other platforms to earn money. Also you can visit the Internships website for various internship. This will give you an industrial experience as well as some money and the matter of fact is you can do it from home.
Also you can go for Youtube but earning from it is not effective from the day you opened an account. If you invest some time to get a growth in your channel then Youtube can also be a great option for you.

You didn't mention which steam you are studying now. Or what you are doing already. Now look in age 17 every one students so they are studying. If you want to earn something then you can do tution for children. You can earn something from your own. Thats one kind of good income source as a student. When you want to start earning at 12 then there are various ways.
If you would like to make an income while doing your higher studies then some of the options are doing part time internships, working in outlets like McD, KFC, etc, Taking tuitions for students, freelancing in the fields of coding, content writing, etc.
SOme other options in the government sector for full time employment are:

- Indian Coast Guard Exam for the post of Sailors, Technicians, Assistant Commandants and Airmen
