First of all you will have to do a graduation course and get a degree to be eligible to appear in he upsc examination.And in the time span of the graduation you can prepare for upsc.
UPSC Civil Services exam is conducted in three stages Prelims, Mains and Interview. UPSC Civil Services Prelims comprises two papers from General Studies of 200 marks each. On the basis of performance in the Prelims stage, candidates will be shortlisted for Mains exam. UPSC Civil Services Mains exam consists of nine papers of which Paper A and B are qualifying in nature. Marks obtained in the remaining seven papers and Interview will be calculated while preparing the merit list.
UPSC Civil Services Prelims exam is qualifying in nature and marks obtained in this stage will not be considered while preparing the merit list. The exam comprises two papers General Studies 1 and General Studies 2. Both the papers will contain only objective type questions. The Commission has prescribed the minimum qualifying marks of 33% in General Studies 2. Prelims exam is conducted to select candidates for Mains and Interview. The exam pattern of UPSC Civil Services Prelim.
The Mains exam will consist of a written exam and interview. The written test will contain nine papers and questions asked in the exam will be conventional type questions. As per the exam pattern of UPSC Civil Services 2019, Paper A and B are qualifying in nature. Merit list of candidates will be prepared on the basis of marks secured in the seven compulsory papers and Interview.
