I'm a CAT aspirant. I worked as a software engineer in 2014 but didn't like it and quit in just four months after which I was looking after father's store. Now my query is if I can mention above experience in CAT form.

Question

Does CAT exam only include work experience after graduation? As i a government teacher with 12 months of experience, I got the job after my 12th by doing a teaching course and clearing the exam,bascially my job was full time and graduation was from distance. Does my 12 months experience is eligible?

Dear Ranjith, any work experience should have an experience letter and atleast the last month's pay slip to validate your experience. And the experience should be nothing less than 1 year. And if you looked after your father's store, even that should have an experience letter with the company's letter head and a pay slip. Family business doesn't usually fall under work experience in MNC's. So please consider all this before you mention them in your CAT application.

Dear Candidate, You can mention it but in a creative way. Create your resume in new format where you can mentioned skills which you obtained
but remember you need to convince the recruiter once they asked you about the same.

Nowadays companies search the right candidates with the right skills sets and passion.
