Yes you need to submit your caste certificate for verification at the time of counselling . However some colleges mention specific date after which caste certificate should have been generated.
So do visit your college or university website and check all the information regarding issue of BC certificate and during what time it should be produced in front of college authorities.
If you do not have renewed caste certificate and counselling date has came near and you don't have time also to get your certificate renewed then also you don't need to worry. You can request the college authorities to consider the old one and give you some more time to present renewed caste certificate.
But if you have some time left then don't just wait for counselling date do apply for renewed caste certificate and take the receipt of the same with old certificate (date not mentioned according to the college) at the time of counselling of college and ask them to give to another stipulated date to present the renewed caste certificate.
However colleges and university itself give sufficient time to present the proper renewed caste certificate .
