Firstly congratulations for your achievements now to your questions
The previous year cutoff was as:-
For OBC:-29 marks(mechanical)
On this basis rank of the students is predicted and according to your you may get nit's college.

Hi shambhavi,
First of all congrats for clearing gate.See all it depends on the colleges cut off list. Some good colleges accept intake for marks between 50 to 60 but for good IIT it is less practical rather you try for nit .

Generally it will depends on the figure of cadiadiates in OBC in mechanical engineering. It can't decided or predicted so easily on basis of marks, but more tha 50% marks would get good iits /nits for sure.
Since GATE results are heavily dependent on
1. Difficulty level of Question Paper
2. No of people appearing
The cutoffs for marks in IIT's doesnt remain constant which again depends on
1. Application Deadlines
2. No of PSU recruitments
3. General mood of students
4. No of Duplicate applications(wastage of seats)
5. Category
So , you cannot pre-assume that whether you will be able to get an IIT or not. But your score suggests that you may get a good college.
