Theoretical physicists study the theoretical aspects that range from subatomic particles to the evolution of the entire universe. As the name suggests, their base is the theories of physics. Their work sometimes attempts to describe the results of experiments that have not yet had an explanation.
They work mainly to predict the properties of substances and materials. They use high-tech equipment, such as lasers, electron microscopes and particle accelerators to conduct theoretical physicist research. They work in scientific research, developmental services and also many colleges and Universities.
Since you are in tenth, the first step would be to choose PCMB/PCMC/PCME in +2 and strengthen your concepts . After +2, you would have to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Physics: To bring about a strong base in Physics and the related subject, the course will teach all the students about the basic principles and exponents involved in the subject.
You may also be required to pass regulated graduate-level tests, such as the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). The physics GRE covers nine categories, including electromagnetism, quantum mechanics, laboratory methodology, and atomic physics.
The next step would be involvement in research: This will give you both skills in involved in the proceedings of conducting a research and will prepare you for real-world training while working in the laboratories.
To add finesse to your role as a theoretical physicist , it would be advised to go for a doctoral degree. Ph.D. programs in theoretical physics can be completed in 4-6 years. Most programs require students to work as either physics teaching assistants or teachers for several semesters during residency. There are also many Post-doctoral research programs that are conducted during the course. This is a prospective career booster and opens the doors to a wide range of job opportunities.
