Hello,
For admission in NIT, one should have a minimum aggregate of 75 percentage in CBSE Class 12th boards if the candidate is a general category student. If the student is a SC/ST candidate, the required minimum aggregate percentage should be 65 percentage. For students belonging to other boards, they need to be in top 20 percentile pf their respective boards. This is the boards qualifying criteria. Admission in NITs is done by rank obtained by the candidate in JEE Mains. In top NITs like NIT Tiruchirappalli, to get Chemical engineering, your rank should be very good. The JEE Mains cutoff rank for Chemical engineering at NIT Tiruchirappalli was 10589 for general category students in year 2018.
