Your question is not clear enough.
Which government polytechnic institute do you wish to know about? Because there are several all across the country.
Also each year has two semesters. So whichever course you are applying, just multiply by 2 and that will be the number of semesters. Each semester has roughly 4-6 subjects respectively and placements are highly dependent on the institution and your all over performance.

Actually I'm taking admission in my near government Polytechnic which is situated in nanakpur (panchkula).
I checked on there website they are showing that first year will be as annual year... The course is of 3 years... Can you pls explain me about that....
Last question for job:- how much marks did I need to complete diploma in computer science engineering?
