in a 5 mark statement question it is stated that solve it using matrix method but i solved it using linear equation but my final answer is correct will cbse give marks
If the question required the matrix method, but you used linear equations, your marks depend on the examiner:
1. Partial Marks (Most Likely) – Correct answer but wrong method may lead to deductions.
2. Full Marks (Less Likely) – If the examiner is lenient.
3. Zero or Low Marks (Strict Evaluation) – If only the required method is considered.
CBSE follows a stepwise marking scheme, so always use the specified method to avoid losing marks.
Hello,
Since the question specifically asked for the matrix method , but you solved it using linear equations , there is a chance that the examiner may deduct some marks for not following the required method.
However, since your final answer is correct , you may still get partial marks (around 2-3 out of 5) depending on CBSE's marking scheme and the examiner's discretion.
Hope it helps !
Hii,
If the question ask for the Matrix method, you must solve it that way to get full marks. Using another method may lead to deduction in marks, even if the answer is correct.
To ensure full marks :
- Express the system as AX=B
- Find A^-1( if it exist)
- Solve using X = A^-1B
May this will help you.
